I've always believed the little details make the biggest difference.

Even as a kid, I was drawn to creating, sewing, fabrics, clothes, anything I could make or put together. I followed that instinct all the way through studying fashion design, footwear, and millinery, not because I was chasing a career path, but because accessories genuinely fascinated me. The way a hat, a shoe, or a piece of jewellery can completely reframe an outfit. The way they let you say something about who you are without opening your mouth. I spent years working in jewellery design, helping create pieces that would help women feel beautiful, confident, and entirely themselves. But somewhere along the way, I found myself caught up in the fast fashion machine, following trend cycles, producing volume, not much room for real creativity.

And then life, as it does, took me somewhere I never planned. Feeling more like a cog than a creator, I wanted work that felt meaningful again, so I made an unexpected left turn into healthcare. I stepped away from design entirely. I trained as a nurse and spent the next years working in an Emergency Department, finding a different kind of purpose there. Through the chaos of the pandemic, long shifts sometimes stretching to 18 hours, fluorescent lights, the relentless pace, it was full-on and at times overwhelming, but deeply meaningful work. And yet the fire never really went away, the pull back to design, to creativity, to making things that meant something. Coming back felt inevitable. So, I went back to my roots and started looking at everything with fresh eyes. 

Shoes have always been my weakness. Bold sneakers, statement heels, vintage boots. I've spent years hunting them down and obsessing over them, you know the type… But I could never find socks that did them justice. Everything was boring, cheap, lifeless, just not special enough. I'd put together a whole outfit and then get to the socks and just give up.

And I realised it wasn't just me. We put genuine thought into every part of getting dressed, the dress, the shoes, the bag, and then we get to the socks and just stop trying. We buy beautiful shoes and just pull-on whatever pair is closest. It's the one place where we've collectively decided the detail doesn't count. But it does. It's the last thing you put on, and the first thing people notice when you sit down. The detail that either finishes the outfit or quietly undermines it.

So, I decided to fix it. XOXOSOX is my way of bringing a little everyday joy to the one corner of the wardrobe that's been getting away with mediocrity for too long. Socks that are actually worth choosing. Not a finishing touch. The finish.

Something sheer and sparkly, something soft and sweet, something bright and bold. Fun but wearable. Considered but not precious. The kind of thing that makes your favourite shoes look even better and makes you
feel quietly pleased about the whole outfit.

Because when you put on a pair, you're not making a statement to anyone else. You're just deciding that the details matter. That you're worth the detail.
